I go by Ben Jammin and you can find me on Twitter @xBenJamminx.
My real name is Ben Joselson, people never know how to pronounce it, so Ben Jammin became much easier. That and my Dad always used to sing “We Ben Jammin” to me, playing off the Bob Marley song We Be Jammin, which is the cover photo for my twitter page. I live in Westbury, New York and I’m 27 years old, finishing up college with a Computer Science degree majoring in Web Development while working with 3D Printers. I am President and Founder of one of the first 3D Printing College clubs in the country. I was able to get our club over $6,000 in funding in my first semester, allowing us to purchase multiple printers and supplies. I am the only student at my school with his own office space, and we have been able to leverage this to partner with Enabling The Future and be able to print 3D Printed Prosthetic Hands for kids.
Beyond that, I’ve been a life long athlete and sports fan, playing Basketball, Football, Baseball and Running track, later dropping baseball because it conflicted with track in high school. I’ve been playing DFS since 2014 and was instantly successful. I won over $7,000 in my first two weeks playing MLB and was able to pay off all my Student Loans and Credit Card debts in one shot. I can’t begin to tell you the relief of pressure that DFS provided me. I’m not a pro by any means, I’m just a huge supporter of this industry we are all involved in. I play every day that I can. I don’t like to go out and party, so my humble homebody lifestyle perfectly meshes with what it takes to play and research DFS.
I have an amazing girlfriend name Shannon who I’ve been with a little over 2 years. I’ve never met such an amazing girl, and I started dating her around the same time I found DFS. She was there from the beginning and has been with me for almost every big sweat. She’s seen first hand the way that this game changed my life and I truly wish everybody I know could feel that rush and excitement of watching the clock tick down and see your name next to 1st place with a few Zeros next to it.
After spending so much time researching DFS and talking about it with friends (and anyone who will listen), everyone started asking my opinion. That turned into people saying just give me picks, which turned into give me lineups. The funny thing is, I have no problem sharing lineups with people I’m close with, but I started losing every time I would give my friends a lineup. It was the weirdest thing. I would win $500 one day, $350 the next day, I would give my friend a lineup, and then BOOM $0 Winning. As you can imagine that wouldn’t work for either of us.
If you have been following me for a while, you know that I gained popularity at the end of 2015, writing blogs on Rotogrinders.com for NBA Value Plays. Well the reason I started writing out my plays is because it made it easier for my friends to learn the players and decide for themselves who to play. I decided to post my notes that I wrote for my friends on RG and word of mouth spread and the articles became pretty popular so I decided to try out Twitter and see if I could promote them even more. I started getting offers to work at some great websites, and it pained me to have to turn them down because I don’t have the time between Full-time school and Full-time work. I decided to partner with CeeGee of @DailyRotoSharks and have our own platform to release info when we’re available. Both of us have very tough schedules for DFS but combined, we are able to get a lot done.
One of the people who contacted me was Andy Singleton (@PeoplezPen) of @NickelPressTV. Andy does great video work and agreed to produce and edit whatever videos we decided to do. This was able to elevate what we were doing and brought us to where we are now.
With that said, not only will I show you players I like, but WHY I like them. There has been a lot said about lineup providers flooding the market with many players using the same lineups. One thing that says to me is that there aren’t enough people who know HOW to play the game and want a quick fix. There are multiple opinions on this topic, but I would just like to point out that it is a factor when considering the ecosystem of DFS. What I have been trying to do it TEACH players how to play and what to look for and where to look. Many people may frown upon this thinking they may be losing an edge because of what I’m doing. Oh well.
I’m a leader, captain of sports teams, and a teacher. I enjoy very much teaching somebody something that helps to make their lives better. There are many people who win a ton of money in DFS but there are also many more people losing money. I love being able to share what I know in order to make people better players. Not all people want to just be spoon fed lineups when they may disagree with it or want to play someone they like. Well my opinion is that everyone should learn to play and research on their own, it makes everything more fun.
