Draftkings Top Plays — Saturday (7:05 slate) August, 1st

We’re not touching the Early Only slate today. With only 3 Games there really is no edge vs the competition. The late (main) slate however, has plenty of spots and matchups we can take advantage of. Some of which are much less obvious than others.

3B Alex Rodriguez ($5,000)

This one is pretty much the chalk play of the day, any and all Yankess are in play this evening vs the gas can that is John Danks.

John Danks vs RH: .311 avg – .363 OB% – .380 wOBA – 42% Fly Ball Rate
Alex Rodriguez vs LH: .405 OB% – .341 ISO – .423 wOBA – 43% Fly Ball Rate – 42% Hard Hit Rate

All this adds up to the “Dong of the Day” for me. Like I said, it will be a popular play for sure, but ARod could go yard twice tonight so we’ll probably build our Cash Games around him

1B Lucas Duda ($4,300)

Duda is in a great hitting situation tonight vs young RH Joe Ross from that Nationals. Ross has pitched really well this year, albeit in a small sample size. If you look a little deeper, you’ll see that he has struggled a bit vs LH Batters.

Lucas Duda vs RHP: .364 wOBA – .232 ISO – 48% Fly Ball Rate – 41% Hard Contact Rate

When a player has a FB% and a HH% in the 40% range, going up against a pitcher with ranges that are close, I like to target them and look for the big fly. This looks like one of those situation tonight in the Duda / Ross matchup. #PlugAndPlay

3B Manny Machado ($4,300)

If you can’t afford ARod tonight, or, you just wanna be a little different than everyone else, Machado makes a fantastic play tonight vs Anibal Sanchez and the Tigers. Sanchez has been just an average pitcher this year, who’s benefited from having a great lineup to give him some good run production all year long. Tonight, I think he’s going to struggle mightily vs a powerful Orioles lineup.

Manny Machado vs RHP: .357 OB% – .372 wOBA – .207 ISO – 35% FB Rate – 33% Hard Hit Rate

Machado will lead the charge tonight vs Sanchez and the Tigers
