Here are a few players I’ll be targeting in from Tonight’s Slate… Some of these guys may not be the “Top Plays” of the night, but, I think they’ll be able to help you separate yourself from the rest of the pack if they do in fact put up a monster game…
MONDAY GPP PLAYS
Julio Teheran – $8,100
Obviously, everyone is going to be all over Jake DeGrome tonight, vs the Phillies, and you’ll probably see your fare share of DeGrome in my lineups for our Cash Games later this evening. That being said, I think Teheran makes a great GPP Play tonight. He gets a nice matchup with the Rockies, who really struggle away from the Friendly Confines of Coors Field… If you’ve been using our lineups for awhile, you’ll know that we love to pick on the Rockies when they go on the road… Teheran has a great home record this year, his 2.44 home ERA and .201 Batting Average Allowed put him in the same relm as some of the game’s elite… Combine those great numbers with the Rockies terrible numbers away from Coors; .291 wOBA (last in MLB) and a nearly 25% K rate on the road and I think the stars align tonight for Teheran.
Welington Castillo – $3,400
Castillo should be underowned tonight, as the matchup with Lance Lynn on paper doesn’t look appealing. But, did deeper and you’ll notice that Castillo has great power and is a much better hitter at home in Arizona… Plug him in and hope for a long ball in that hot, dry, Arizona air tonight.
David Peralta – $3,100
Castillo’s teammate has been great all year long… He will be overlooked tonight, as the more sexy bats get some more press clippings than he normally does… Look at the numbers, they don’t lie. Peralta will have a solid night tonight, and I’ll bet the winning lineup in this huge GPP has several Arizona D’Backs on their roster.
Nelson Cruz – $5,300
I know he’s let me down the last few times I’ve touted him vs a LHP but, trust me, he simply crushes Left Handed Pitching… This is one of those situations where you can’t question the recent results, you just have to know, that if you keep putting yourself in (+) situations like this, on a night to night basis, it WILL pay off for you in the long run… I’m hoping Cruz’s recent struggles (and i use that term loosely) and his expensive price tag will keep people off of him tonight and we can get him at less than 8% owned in this big GPP
