POINT GUARDS
Brandon Jennings $3,500 – I love this kid and I’m glad he’s back in the NBA. When he gets minutes, he balls out. He can score and assist with any small PG in the league and he’s starting tonight. I played him the last 2 times he was guaranteed 20 minutes and he scored 33 and 24 FD points. Love him as a punt.
Tony Douglas $4,500 – After playing only 17 min per game for most of the Season, Tony Douglas has seen a huge uptick in minutes because of injuries in New Orleans. Now, playing 31 minutes per game, he is in another great spot tonight vs the Kings. If you told me there was a player who’s salary was only $4,500 and he is pretty much locked into 30+ minutes, sign me up!
Darren Collison $5,300 – He’s been the starting SG along side Rondo in the Kings backcourt the past few games and he’s seen a big minutes per game jump from 29 to nearly 37 mpg. As you know Minutes = Money and he’s been playing very well lately. He’s averaged 29 FD ppg over his last 4 and has been consistently hitting value.
Kemba Walker $8,900 – His scoring is up in a BIG way over his last 5 games. His minutes are the same, but usage rate is reaching elite levels. His FP/Min are up and he is scoring close to 7 more FD ppg in his last 5 games. He gets a very good matchup against the lackluster defense of Orlando guards. He need 44 FD points to hit 5x value and he’s done that in 6 of his last 8 games with a 57 FD points game vs NO.
SHOOTING GUARDS
E’Twaun Moore $4,600 – Injuries to both Rose and Butler, have forced Moore into the starting lineup recently. He’s gone from 21 mpg, all the way up to 32 mpg over his last 4 games. Butler should be playing tonight but with him and Rose both on a minutes limit, we may see More of Moore. He’s scored 29, 15, 34 and 27 FD points in his last 4 games. He gets a good matchup but we don’t know what his minutes will be like. Be careful in cash games.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope $5,200 – He’s a guy who rarely steps off the court. He plays around 38 mpg and hits value very consistently. He always goes overlooked and has a great matchup vs the Hawks SGs. He’s averaged 28 FD ppg over his last 5 which is more than 5x value. I like him today more than Lavine.
Victor Oladipo $7,000 – With all the injuries, his usage rate is nearing 25% and he’s become one of the primary ball handlers. It looks like Jennings will be playing PG but Victor will have plenty of opportunities in this good matchup. He’s scored 35+ FD ppg in 4 of his last 5 games and that’s what he needs for 5x value. Besides the POR game, he’s played 39, 39, 36, and 39 minutes in those 4 games, that’s getting some run. Be careful because he plays less minutes on a B2B.
James Harden $10,300 – I’ve heard talk today about fading The Beard and I’m not on that bandwagon. He is one of the best offensive players in the NBA and his price has come down a bit from 3 straight sub 40 FD point games. He can come out and score 50-60 any night and gets a cupcake matchup vs JJ and Crawford tonight. I’ll be all over him.
SMALL FORWARDS
Michael Beasley $3,900 – Don’t sleep on the Bease. Since coming back to the NBA he’s scored 30, 17, 28, and 14 FD points in 4 games with only 16 mpg. He got 27 in his last game and should be worked a little more into the rotation. The Rockets need help and he fits them more than Josh Smith.
Marcus Morris $5,200 – He’s a streaky player but he’s scored 18, 35, 18, 35 in his last 4 games playing around 40 mpg besides the WAS game. He’s not much of a cash game player but he can hit the mid 30s ceiling for you. He gets a pretty nice matchup and should be chucking up as many shots as anyone.
Matt Barnes $5,600 – The Grizzlies have been absolutely decimated by injuries during the 2nd half of the year. Mike Conley, Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol are all out. This leaves a huge void on the Grizzlies and Barnes has been playing SG, SF and PF in this recent stretch. Its no surprise that his minutes and production have jumped in a big way. He’s been pretty streaky so idk if I would trust him in cash. He’s scored 23, 13, 58, and 23 FD points in his last 4 games so there’s definite volatility there.
Chandler Parsons $7,100 – The Mavericks are currently 8th in the Western Conference Playoffs and players like Parsons and Dirk will have to carry them if they are going to hold onto that spot. Parsons’ minutes are up, from 29 mpg to 37 mpg over his Last 5. Lebron James is out so he’ll get a little Shumpert but that’s better than King James. I don’t really ever play him but he’s been hot and getting a ton of minutes so I’ll think about it.
Nicolas Batum $7,500 – I would probably rather pay the extra $400 for a little consistency. He plays just as many minutes as parsons and gets a better, faster paced matchup. He’s scored at least 38 FD ppg in 4 of his last 6 games. There isn’t much going on offensively in Charlotte besides Batum and Kemba.
POWER FORWARDS
Taj Gibson $5,300 – Everyone loves to roster Taj Gibson when they know he’s getting the minutes. Pau Gasol is now ruled out. He’s simply a player that needs time on the court to perform. His minutes are sporadic but he’s done well when getting them. The last 3 games over 30 minutes he’s scored 32, 33 and 21 FD points. He gets an okay matchup but should be able to bring down some rebounds tonight.
Jared Sullinger $6,600 – Sullinger has really stepped his game up over his Last 5 games, from 26 FD ppg up to 35 FD ppg. He’s a safe play, with upside, which is the type of player I love. He’s playing around 33 mpg over his last 5 while scoring 34, 56, 25, 36, and 24. He’s playing very well and gets a nice fast paced matchup tonight.
Aaron Gordon $6,700 – Averaging just 23 min per game during the 1st half of the year, Gordon is now up to 30+ minutes per game in his Last 5. He sporadically gets 30 minutes in a game but they get blown out so often and their coach is so bad that he doesn’t play the 4Q as much as curry doesn’t. Be careful here but we know he’s capable of hitting 5x, we just won’t expect it. GPP play. He’s really coming on strong in the 2nd half and should have a solid matchup tonight vs the Hornets as long as it stays close.
Anthony Davis $10,100 – This guy is just brittle, he can break apart at any time. He can give you 60 FD points but literally has a floor of 0. He’s the ultimate GPP play and that’s exactly how I see him tonight in his good matchup vs Boogie. He’s scored at least 40 FD points in his last 7 games with a 63 FD point game in there. Don’t be TOO scared off him.
CENTERS
Enes Kanter $5,200 – Over the Last 5 games, Kanter has emerged as a legit option for the Thunder. Going from a season average of 22 FD ppg, he’s now averaged 31 FD ppg over his last 5. Against a small frontcourt in Boston, he should be able to dominate tonight.
Robin Lopez $6,000 – When given the minutes to perform, Lopez has played well. His minutes are up to 32 mpg over his last 6 and gets a nice uptempo matchup vs GS tonight. He’s scored 29, 44, and 37 over his last 3 games and this is about as much as I’ll pay for him.
Marcin Gortat $6,200 – I was using him earlier in the year and I know he can do well when given the opportunity. He’s been playing around 27 mpg and gets a matchup vs the Bulls with no Gasol. They were already bad vs big guys and if Gortat plays at least 25 minutes, could have a nice night tonight. He’s scored 31, 30, and 54 FD points the last 3 games he played 30 minutes so there’s certainly upside.
DeMarcus Cousins $11,100 – You have to make a conscious decision tonight about the opportunity cost of rostering Cousins at 11K vs saving at least $2,500 moving down to the next Center. I don’t think you can ever expect someone to get 50 FD points but with a 36% usage rate, and all the minutes he can handle, I don’t think anyone would be surprised to see Boogie put up another 50 tonight. He is going to be battling with AD tonight but he’s the most dominant big man in the league since SHAQ.
