The Chronicles of a DFS Newbie
Welcome to The Chronicles of a DFS Newbie. This space is going to show the journey of a completely inexperienced DFS player and hopefully act as a piece that most new DFS players can relate to.
As stated before I was a long time season fantasy player and saw a commercial that lured me in. I began by playing only Grand Guaranteed Prize Pools (GPPs) because, hell, I had no idea what I was doing and all my line ups were research free. Choosing players based off of common knowledge and games I watched throughout the year, I found out quickly that what I was doing was completely wrong and getting me nowhere fast. So I began to search for information and help via endless google searches.
All I found was sites with numbers after numbers that I didn’t understand. I had never heard of DvP (Defense vs Position) prior to DFS. So finding that route unsuccessful and watching my bank roll (BR) struggling, I turned to Twitter, of all things, and the first thing I found was @aliveonarrival2 and began my time as a sub or someone using other’s lines and tipping for winning. The man knows his stuff. But sadly everyone knew that, so his lines were flooded. So, I started to look for other providers and boy are there a ton available. Man, the lineup selling/providing world is a cruel, dark one! I will save the provider piece for another time. After my sub time, I found @RedzonePlayerz and begin DMing him, which lead me to a group DM where I met the likes of @GlenFlores4 @Mondolineup and @jjcward and I began to learn the world of DFS.
These gentlemen changed my view and perspective of DFS completely. I began to learn how to research and Glen even took time out of his day to FaceTime me and show me how he does daily research. Soon after that, I won $600 a couple times and I even withdrew money. The feeling was euphoric to say the least!! I began using @baskmonster @dfsnerd and @dfinsider to research daily. Not only did I use the picks and info, but I began to research how they came up with the picks to find my own value, and it started to click. The last key to my minor success was @xBenJamminx and his #GODMode trend.
I began picking his brain nightly it seemed when he had free time from being a hero! (That’s cool stuff you do with the 3D printing bro! Keep that up!) Soon, I was on @echeney17 periscopes and listening to his radio show and learning even more. I was craving learning more than winning at this point. Since all this, I have really come into my own, as a DFS player. I will end this here now and pick up next time with providers and other things I’ve encountered. Remember don’t limit yourself! DFS is out there for the taking, you’ve just got to find your groove! Hit me up on Twitter at @CubbableHoosier and feel free to DM me about anything!
