Week 5 College Football
Get ready for some fireworks on the Early Only Slate for Both Fanduel and Draftkings this weekend. There are several games with really, high Vegas Total’s this Saturday. Then, even beyond those games, there is the game between Baylor and Texas Tech, which is the highest O/U I’ve ever seen pushing 90 points. It should be a fun weekend of CFB DFS and below you’ll see some of the guys I’m trying to squeeze into our Lineups.
QUARTERBACK
Clear cut #1 Option on the board this week. This game has the highest over / under I’ve ever seen. Closing in on a 90 total as I write this Friday night, any and all players from this game are in play. Russell has leggit 500 yard 7 TD upside in this matchup. Sit back, and just watch in awe as your Fantasy Score rises this weekend.
Greg Ward Jr. vs Tulsa
This guy has been having a great season so far, and I’m not really sure if anyone has even noticed. Through 3 games this year he has 230 Pass yards to go along with 90 rushing yards in every game. Dating back to last Season, he’s gone over 30 Fanduel Points in 6 straight games. He’s a stud, in an uptempo matchup with Tulsa in another shootout Early Saturday.
Trevon Boykin. vs Texas
Everyone remembers last week right? Well, this week could be pretty similar as TCU gets to take on a weak Texas team that doesn’t seem able to stop very many teams these days. Boykin has a shot to be the highest scoring player on pretty much any slate TCU plays on, and this week, you’ll probably be able to get him at a much lower ownership % than normal (because of the high o/u in BAY/TT) so I think he makes a great GPP Play. I’m not sure I’d play him over Russell in Cash Games however.
Skyler Howard
Howard came up big last week and has been playing really well for the uptempo Mountaineers. The matchup is pretty tough, as they get the perennial powerhouse in Oklahoma this week. The Vegas O/U is a little concerning, as I expected it to be a little higher than 57, so, Vegas could be thinking Oklahoma will run the ball and control tempo. I don’t think so however, I think this game will be a high scoring and I think West Virginia will need to pass the ball to keep up with the Sooners.
RUNNING BACK
My #1 HB this week is the big guy from Ohio State. ZEEKE as they call him in Columbus should run wild on Indiana. He’s getting around 20 carries per game and if he gets that this Saturday, he could easily run for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Hoosiers don’t pride themselves on Defense, and they try to play uptempo and score with their Opponents. Ohio State hasn’t looked like the Defensing National Champs in the first handful of games so far this Season, so, I think the Hoosiers may be able to keep it close for at least a Half. That is good for us CFB DFS’ers as this will lead to the Bucks playing their starters most of the game. I think they’ll ride Zeeke to the finish line in this one.
Samaje Perine vs West Virginia
The Sooners have changed up their Offense this year and they are no longer the power run team. However, lat year Perine went crazy vs West Virginia. I think the Sooners get back to their ground game in this one and give Perine at least 20 carries vs a weak WVA run Defense.
Aaron Green vs Texas
Green has been steady all year long. This game has a really high Vegas Total and I think there will be plenty of points scored. Boykin and Doctson will get theirs, but, I feel like Green will get plenty of touches to return some nice value in this contest
Wake Forest is no pushover, but they aren’t on the level of Florida State. They will keep this game competitive for awhile and that should lead to Cook getting plenty of action in this one.
Jordan Howard vs Ohio State
My GPP Special this week, and both Fanduel and Draftkings are begging you to play him in a tough matchup vs the National Champion Buckeyes. Last year however, Tevin Coleman shredded the Buckeyes Defense for over 200 yards on the ground. I’m not sure if Indiana will be able to run the ball that well, but, Howard is a stud and he’s fully capable of putting up those type of numbers if the Hoosiers can keep this game close
WIDE RECEIVER
What more can I say. Play everyone. 90 point total with absolutely zero Defense being played. This game will be fun to watch for sure.
Jay Lee vs Texas Tech
We’ve talked plenty about this game already, but, why not throw another kindling on the fire. Lee presents a great value if you can’t afford to pay up for Coleman. Anyone and everyone is fully in play in this game.
Keyarris Garrett vs Houston
Surprisingly getting more targets than Keevan Lucas through the first few games of the Season. It could be due to the fact that opposing Defenses are paying more attention to Lucas, who is arguably the best WR in the nation. Nonetheless, Garrett vs Houston is a great matchup that we need to get some exposure to this weekend.
