Monday July 27th Fanduel Value Plays

SS Cliff Pennington ($2,200)

Pennington leads off our list of value players on both Fanduel and Draftkings today. He’s just too cheap for the matchup he has tonight. The only thing that would keep him off my teams would be him not being in the starting lineup tonight. Absolute minimum salary player on both Fanduel and Draftkings. When he does break into the lineup, he generally hits near the top of the lineup when he gets a matchup with a left handed pitcher. Dating back to the start of the 2014 Season, Pennington has a .386 On Base % and a and a 122 WRC+ vs Left handed pitching. Now, these numbers aren’t worldly, but they are very serviceable for a minimum priced player. He’ll give a you a few points without killing your lineup and allow you to fit in some of the studs tonight.

OF Mark Trumbo ($2,300)

I think the Mariners are in a good spot tonight vs Robbie Ray. I know Ray has been pitching decent this Season, but I’m noticing a few Mariners with good splits vs Left Handed pitching. Trumbo (and Cruz) top the list of Mariners for me tonight for me. What I’m really loving about Trumbo is how hard he hits the ball vs LHP. He’s got a 45% Hard Hit Rate dating back to 2014 vs LHP. He also has a 41% Fly ball rate to go along with a 210 ISO. He hits Lefties well, and with plenty of Power. Trumbo makes for a great contrarian GPP Play tonight and he’ll save you a few bucks as well..

2B Aaron Hill ($2,300)

A-ARON! is in a nice spot tonight with a lefty on the hill for the Mariners. I think the D’Backs will be popular tonight, as Mike Montgomery, while great at times has been inconsistent this year and overall remains unproven. Hill on the other hand, wont WOW you with his play, but at just $2,300 he shouldn’t kill you in this matchup tonight. He hits Lefties better than he hits Righties, and while still not spectacular, I think he’s a safe play in your cash games to save up some money for the bigger hitters we’ve got going tonight.
