NBA SATURDAY 1/23/16
Saturday Night should be a great night for some NBA DFS Action. We’ve got a solid slate of games tonight and, in the game of the night we’ll get our 1st look at the Cavaliers and their new head coach Ty Lue vs the Chicago Bulls. If you haven’t heard (where have you been) the Cavaliers fired their Head Coach David Blatt yesterday, becoming the first team in NBA History to fire their Head Coach while in 1st Place in the Conference. For whatever reason, the Management felt that the Team just wasn’t clicking enough to really have a shot to win the NBA Title, despite being #1 in the East.
Anyway, enough about the Cavaliers, lets take a look at some of these matchups for tonight.
Just a sidenote, the Knicks and Hornets game is NOT on Fanduel tonight.
SLATE BREAKDOWN
By looking at the Chart above, we can easily see which teams / players we should be targeting this evening.
By now you should all know that the Lakers are the team to target, as they pretty much suck at guarding every position. The next team to target tonight is going to be the Hawks, in Phoenix playing up in pace they should be able to have a solid offensive performance tonight. *EDIT* Sadly Paul Millsap has been ruled out tonight.
I’ll be targeting Paul Millsap heavily tonight for sure
The Paces and Kings end the night, and they both give us some serious late night hammer action as both teams are 100+ in pace and both come in with DRS Gamescores over 310. This game should be a shootout tonight.
Obviously, as news breaks throughout the day things can change.
Sometimes, there are players in very low game score games, that become “must players” based on
injury situations and spot starts.
With that being said Be sure to follow us on Facebook , Twitter and Instagram so you never
miss out on any of that late breaking news and lineup changes
Name | Price | 3g | 5g | 10g | FULL | 5gStdev |
Kemba Walker | $8,300 | 61.00 | 49.65 | 41.45 | 37.82 | 25.01 |
Rajon Rondo | $8,400 | 42.50 | 41.15 | 41.90 | 40.66 | 3.37 |
Derrick Rose | $5,800 | 33.08 | 28.90 | 28.55 | 27.38 | 8.73 |
Jrue Holiday | $6,500 | 30.50 | 30.85 | 33.35 | 26.64 | 9.60 |
Jrue Holiday – I mentioned the Pelicans above, and who better to roster than their point guard, who’s averaging 30+ DK FP per game in his last 5 games. In a game with a higher pace like tonight, again the Bucks who have a 106 D-Efficiency rating, Holiday should be able to pay off his moderate salary, and then some.
Rajon Rondo – I talked about the late night hammer earlier, and Rondo is an absolute steal under $8.5k tonight. He’s averaging 40+ DK FP for the season, and his last 3 games he’s doing even more. He could be the guy that really separates you from the pack tonight as most people don’t like to roster players from the late west coast games.
Name | Price | 3g | 5g | 10g | FULL | 5gStdev |
Jimmy Butler | $8,500 | 39.83 | 44.75 | 45.45 | 40.11 | 23.10 |
Khris Middleton | $7,300 | 37.67 | 38.85 | 36.70 | 30.67 | 5.66 |
Andrew Wiggins | $6,900 | 33.75 | 33.90 | 32.60 | 30.44 | 3.38 |
Tyreke Evans | $7,700 | 32.58 | 27.80 | 34.88 | 35.71 | 14.47 |
Jimmy Butler – “I aint gon lie, LeBron you a balla, but JIMMY BUTLER IS YOUR FATHER!” – Haha Froggy Fresh, if you’re not familiar with this, please check out his “rap” video about Jimmy Butler, its absolutely hilarious. — video here — As ridiculous as that song is, I really do like Jimmy Butler tonight. The Cavs play some pretty solid Defense, but, Butler is just one of those guys that gets a ton of volume and can put up fantasy points without having to score allot of real points.
Khris Middleton – Had another monster night last night, and tonight, he gets an even better matchup the Pelicans, who play at one of the fastest paces in the entire NBA. Look for Middleton to do some work tonight, as he continues to impress and grow as a basketball player.
Name | Price | 3g | 5g | 10g | FULL | 5gStdev |
Rudy Gay | $6,800 | 39.33 | 36.15 | 33.23 | 32.67 | 10.28 |
LeBron James | $9,700 | 36.25 | 37.25 | 44.85 | 46.71 | 7.74 |
Paul George | $9,000 | 33.25 | 36.70 | 39.00 | 42.80 | 9.03 |
Giannis Antetokounmpo | $7,400 | 32.25 | 39.90 | 35.80 | 32.38 | 11.79 |
Paul George – The game of the night is the Pacers vs the Kings. We’ll have to wait awhile for the action to get under way as they don’t tip off until 10:30pm eastern, so, if we play multiple players in that game, we’ll be losing most of our games until that one tips off. It might be a little ner-racking, seeing yourself losing all night, but, that may be the direction I go this evening. This game has my highest DRS Game Score of the evening by far, and I think both teams reach the 110 point mark tonight.
Giannis Antetokounmpo – His name is impossible to pronounce, so I’ll just refer to him as the “Greak Freak” or the “Alphabet” from here on out. The Greak Freak has been a solid player for DFS purposes all year long, maintaining an average over 32 DK FP so far. He’s so good at scoring fantasy points, without needing to score real points, I love him in every format most nights. He should excel tonight in the uptempo matchup vs the Pelicans.
Name | Price | 3g | 5g | 10g | FULL | 5gStdev |
DeMarcus Cousins | $10,700 | 57.33 | 57.35 | 58.30 | 49.65 | 7.47 |
Anthony Davis | $10,000 | 47.33 | 45.75 | 42.23 | 46.32 | 3.80 |
Paul Millsap | $8,400 | 46.42 | 46.55 | 42.50 | 40.91 | 8.63 |
DeMarcus Cousins – This guy is putting up MVP numbers so far this year. Its pretty incredible when you take a step back and really take the time to appreciate it. Tonight, as I’ve said, they highest DRS Gamescore of the evening, between the Kings and Pacers. I’ll be all over Boogie in this one as there isn’t anyone in the league who seems to be able to slow him down.
Anthony Davis – I refuse to play him in Cash Games, because he’s bassically made out of glass. When you’re going to pay $10k for a player, you’ve got to be confident that he’s not going to get injured, and, I’m just not there yet. I’ll fire him up in a few GPP lineups, because, he’s always got that ability to go off for 60+ DK FP, but, I refuse to play him in cash games.
Name | Price | 3g | 5g | 10g | FULL | 5gStdev |
Marc Gasol | $7,800 | 49.17 | 45.40 | 35.95 | 35.19 | 7.22 |
Karl-Anthony Towns | $7,000 | 47.67 | 41.70 | 34.80 | 34.66 | 16.02 |
Andre Drummond | $8,900 | 45.08 | 42.75 | 40.23 | 45.09 | 9.79 |
Myles Turner | $4,100 | 38.75 | 29.25 | 19.00 | 16.15 | 14.80 |
Greg Monroe | $7,000 | 37.92 | 38.85 | 37.08 | 35.45 | 4.77 |
Andre Drummond – This guy has been a machine this year. Leading the NBA in rebounding and 20/20 games this season, he gets a dream matchup tonight vs the Undersized Denver Nuggets. If he can stay out of foul trouble, he should approach another “Barbara Walters” – get it? 20/20 — Game tonight
Myles Turner – Everyone favorite value play tonight will be Myles Turner, who, essentially has come out of nowhere and burst onto the DFS scene. He’s dropping nearly 40 DK FP over his last 3 games, and just under 30 going back to his last 5 games. Again, the matchup tonight with the Kings is absolutely fantastic, and I (and everyone else) will be all over Turner tonight.
